KOMODO MUSEUM & REPTILE PARK

With its striking architecture inspired by the powerful form of the Komodo dragon, the ancient reptile native to East Nusa Tenggara, the Komodo Museum & Reptile Park stands as a tribute to the uniqueness and resilience of Indonesia’s wildlife. Covering a total area of 10,120 m² with a 1,500 m² exhibition space, the museum showcases the incredible diversity of the archipelago’s fauna. Construction began on October 1, 1975, and was completed on July 1, 1976, before being officially inaugurated by President Soeharto on April 20, 1978.

The museum exhibition presents a zoological journey from west to east Indonesia, guiding visitors through a magical trail of native species from Sumatra to Papua. Various reptiles are displayed in settings that replicate their natural habitats, creating an immersive and educational experience.

Inside the museum, visitors will encounter a fascinating collection of live reptiles. You can observe and learn about unique creatures such as Komodo dragons, pythons, legged snakes, monitor lizards, iguanas, turtles, and several species of crocodiles. For a more interactive and memorable adventure, children are encouraged to explore their curiosity at Plaza Padar, where they can safely engage with a python under the supervision of trained professionals.

Come explore and celebrate Indonesia’s extraordinary biodiversity at the Komodo Museum & Reptile Park, where every step reveals the wonder of nature and ignites the spirit of discovery.
