PURA PENATARAN AGUNG KERTABHUMI

Standing majestically in the Lampung Pavilion, Pura Hindu Dharma Penataran Agung Kertabhumi is a sacred place of worship for the Hindu community. Flanked by the Haleluya Protestant Church and Arya Dwipa Arama Buddhist Vihara, this temple draws inspiration from traditional Balinese temple architecture. Its layout follows the principles of Asta Kosala Kosali, the traditional Balinese spatial and architectural philosophy that aligns sacred space with religious and cultural values.

Pura Penataran Agung Kertabhumi consists of several key structures. The Candi Bentar (split gate) serves as the main entrance, particularly used during important ceremonial events (Yadnya). The Balai Gong is dedicated to cultural performances, while the Balai Kul-Kul houses the kentongan (traditional wooden slit drum used as a communication tool). Other sacred elements include the Padu Rasa and Atlar, which function as padmasana (shrines for worship and offerings). More than just a temple structure in TMII, Pura Penataran Agung Kertabhumi is a spiritual symbol that embraces the beauty and meaning found in life’s philosophy.
