Sasana Adirasa serves as a place of worship for followers of Kejawen, a Javanese spiritual belief. This sacred space pays homage to the figure of Prince Samber Nyawa, a renowned priyayi or noble from Surakarta known for his war skills, who refused to collaborate with the VOC.
Open to people of all spiritual beliefs and religions, Sasana Adirasa serves as a platform for discussion, the exchange of ideas, and mutual respect within the context of the relationship with the Almighty. Derived from the word ‘Sasono’, meaning a place, and ‘Adiroso’, signifying true essence, Sasana Adirasa is depicted as a space for exploring genuine sentiments.
The premises also house a library containing books and writings on the teachings of human virtues that reflect the values of Pancasila. There are two main buildings, which are Gedung Pasucen for self-purification before the Almighty, and a pendopo for discussions. The layered roof of the pendopo symbolizes the three levels of Divine Knowledge, comprising Kanuragan, Sangkan Paraning Dumadi, and Kasampurnaning Dumadi.
