TMII and Jakarta’s Department of Culture Unite to Promote Cultural Development
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and the Jakarta Provincial Department of Culture have signed a Joint Agreement (Kesepakatan Bersama/KB) on Cultural Development Programs in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta.
The agreement was signed by Intan Ayu Kartika, President Director of TMII, and Iwan Henry Wardhana, Head of the Jakarta Department of Culture, at the Department’s office on Monday, October 21, 2024.
This agreement aligns with one of TMII’s core pillars, culture. The collaboration aims to ensure that TMII continues to preserve Indonesia’s cultural heritage, deliver meaningful experiences to its visitors, and evolve into a relevant center for culture and recreation in the future.
“In line with our mission and commitment, TMII is proud to take part in preserving and promoting Indonesia’s rich cultural legacy. Today, we are joining hands with the Jakarta Department of Culture to establish a partnership that will advance and promote cultural initiatives within TMII and support the department’s featured program, NAWASENA,” said Intan Ayu Kartika, President Director of TMII.
Meanwhile, Iwan Henry Wardhana, Head of the Jakarta Department of Culture, stated that the agreement is designed to enhance collaboration between TMII and the Jakarta government in developing local culture through the digital platform NAWASENA.
“As Jakarta moves toward becoming a Global City, this collaboration serves as an example of effective governance through continuous innovation. The Department of Culture is proud to launch NAWASENA with TMII as a key partner,” he added.
Through this partnership, TMII and the Jakarta Department of Culture will co-host a variety of cultural programs, from festivals and performances to public education initiatives about Indonesia’s cultural diversity.
This spirit of collaboration is expected to strengthen efforts to preserve and develop cultural heritage, while supporting creative and cultural activities that positively impact the people of Jakarta.
