Vice President of China, Han Zheng, Visits Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) had the honor of welcoming the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Han Zheng, on Monday, October 21, 2024. His visit to TMII followed his attendance at the presidential inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka the day before.
Vice President Han Zheng and his delegation were warmly received by Intan Ayu Kartika, President Director of TMII, along with the board of directors, at the Tourist Information Center (TIC). The welcome ceremony featured the enchanting sounds of the Javanese gamelan Corobalen and a traditional welcoming dance titled “Gatotkaca Pergiwa.”
“We are truly honored by the visit of Vice President Han Zheng and his delegation to TMII. This reflects the strong relationship between our two countries, especially in the fields of culture and tourism. Through this visit, he was able to gain a closer look at Indonesia’s rich and diverse cultural heritage,” said Intan Ayu Kartika, President Director of TMII.
During his brief yet meaningful visit, Vice President Han Zheng was taken on a guided tour of the Indonesia Museum, where he viewed an extensive collection of historical artifacts and cultural treasures that chronicle Indonesia’s long and storied civilization—from prehistoric times to the modern era. The museum offers a comprehensive portrayal of Indonesia’s cultural wealth and ethnic diversity.
The visit also included a stop at the Bali Pavilion, renowned for its exquisite architecture and profound cultural value.
Vice President Han Zheng’s visit to TMII left a lasting impression and stands as a testament to the growing bilateral ties between China and Indonesia, particularly in the spheres of culture and tourism.
