pengurus Perhimpunan Kebun Binatang Seluruh Indonesia (PKBSI) dan Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense (MZB) dengan restu alm. Ibu Tien Soeharto. Tujuan utama dari museum ini adalah memperkenalkan keanekaragaman dunia serangga dan merangsang keinginan serta kepedulian masyarakat terhadap peran dan potensinya dialam.<\/p>\n<p>The Insect Museum was inaugurated by President Soeharto on April 20, 1993, coinciding with the 18th anniversary of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). In 1998, with the support of Mr. Soedjarwo from the Sarana Wana Jaya Foundation, the museum expanded to include the Butterfly Park, complete with nectar gardens, a breeding enclosure, and a conservation area for rare and protected butterfly species. All the collections at the Insect Museum and Butterfly Park originate from various islands across Indonesia. It is estimated that around 16 percent of the world's insect species can be found in Indonesia. This remarkable diversity is due to the country\u2019s tropical climate and archipelagic geography along the equator, which allows organisms to thrive and adapt in unique ecosystems. Each island in Indonesia holds its own distinctive flora and fauna, contributing to this biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>The museum houses approximately 600 species of insects, including around 250 species of butterflies, 200 species of beetles, and 150 species from other insect groups. Several dioramas on display include The Charm of Indonesian Beetles, The Role of Soil Insects in Ecosystem Preservation, Insect Map of Indonesia, Decomposer Insects, Butterfly Map of Indonesia,
