wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Bandung, Monday, 26 August 2024<\/strong> \u2013 Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) or PosIND have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the Stamp Museum located within the TMII complex in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The signing ceremony was conducted by Intan Ayu Kartika, President Director of TMII, and Tata Sugiarta, Corporate Secretary of PT Pos Indonesia, accompanied by Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, President Director of PT Pos Indonesia. The event was held at the Central Post Office on Jalan Cilaki, Bandung City, on Monday, 26 August 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Stamp Museum was originally established on 29 September 1983 as an initiative by Ibu Tien Soeharto during a stamp exhibition organized by PT Pos Indonesia at the 4th Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree in Cibubur.<\/p>\n<p>Postage stamps are a source of national pride, as only sovereign and independent nations are authorized by the United Nations (UN) to issue them. Stamps are, therefore, a symbol of international recognition. Built with traditional Javanese-Balinese architecture, the museum aims to educate the public about the function and history of stamps and the culture of letter-writing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter 41 years, we believe it&#8217;s time for revitalization to enhance the quality and satisfaction of TMII visitors. It is also essential to adapt to the times and trends regarding the role and function of museums as centers for information and education,\u201d said Intan Ayu Kartika, President Director of TMII.<\/p>\n<p>Based on this shared vision, TMII and PosIND have agreed to transform the Stamp Museum into the Museum Pos Indonesia (MUPI). This move aims to broaden the scope and substance of the exhibits, offering a richer, more engaging experience for visitors of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis collaboration is a major step in our ongoing efforts to enrich the knowledge and experience of TMII visitors. By transforming the Stamp Museum into MUPI, we hope it becomes a more relevant and exciting educational destination, especially for younger generations,\u201d Intan added.<\/p>\n<p>The MUPI grand opening is scheduled for late April 2025, coinciding with TMII\u2019s 50th anniversary, and is expected to become one of the site\u2019s main attractions. Visitors can look forward to new collections and a variety of engaging programs held regularly.<\/p>\n<p>Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, President Director of Pos Indonesia, welcomed the signing of the MoU with TMII. He stated that this agreement is a concrete step by PosIND and TMII to increase public awareness of Indonesia\u2019s postal history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis transformation will turn MUPI into a more comprehensive educational and entertainment center focused on postal services, philately, and communication. The museum will feature not only historic stamps but also other significant collections from Pos Indonesia,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Faizal noted that the museum will present technologies used in both past and present communication, along with innovations in Indonesian postal services over the years.
